Jessie Cauliez, archaeologist, ethno-archaeologist, specialist in prehistory and research fellow at the CNRS, has been leading the Franco-Djiboutian mission PSPCA “First food Production Societies in the Horn of Africa” since 2014. She is a member of the Mixed Research Unit 5608 TRACES based in Toulouse (France) and co-directs the “First Holocene Societies” team in this unit.
She has been working in the Horn of Africa since 2003 (Djibouti, Ethiopia, Somaliland), documenting the transition period between the last hunter-gatherers and the first herders, and present-day cultural traditions as part of the ethnographic work in Ethiopia.
