Training and Education
Transmission and Development
The objective of this theme is to initiate reflection and action based on two key concerns shared by the entire program.

The first emphasizes our commitment to greater involvement, recognition, and support for student communities engaged in research related to the Rift (both in France and abroad). This includes the allocation of scholarships and research topics, development of training programs, support for student mobility, etc.
The second concerns our colleagues (researchers, lecturers, engineers, etc.) from countries in the wider African Rift region, with whom we aim to explore the means for shared and multidisciplinary scientific co-production. This involves improved use of partnership tools provided by various French institutions (CNRS, MAE, IRD…), as well as the development of scientific associations better adapted to the social contexts of the countries we work in.
This theme also seeks, from a collaborative perspective with our colleagues from Rift countries, to develop research on education and training for both French and international students, trainers, and educators, in connection with the topics addressed by the GDR. The goal is to rethink and reinvent science and education beyond the framework of partnerships too often confined to institutional dimensions.
